I’m so frustrated. My 99 Ford truck, which I love, is on the DL. It stranded me on the interstate yesterday, I was stuck on the inner shoulder where 480 runs into 80. It was a mess. I was eventually able to limp home. It runs, but barely, and overheats quickly. It looks like I blew a head gasket. To fix what needs to be fixed will be $2000 to $3000 or more, depending on what else they find. I was up late last night researching vehicles and found information on the “Cash For Clunkers” program. It’s a federal program, and will pay up to $4500 for a vehicle, almost any vehicle, where you are getting a 10 mpg increase. So, I went to buy a new car today and found out the program is still a few weeks away from launching. I’m facing a few weeks of sharing a vehicle with my wife, she’ll be driving across town to take me to and from work every day. This is sure to make us both very pleasant people to be around. Or maybe not, I’m off to check the bus schedules.
